From Sunday, June 5 – Friday, June 10 our sisters, along with 14 Sisters and friends, came together at Mt. St. Francis for our retreat: “Surprised by Hope”. Fr. Anthony Ciorra, IVD conducted the retreat and gave us many inspirational talks to help us grow in our relationship with God and each other.
On Monday we focused on “Praying for Wisdom” and the “Journey” of believing in God’s promises as we daily say YES to what Jesus asks of us.
Tuesday found us challenged to be “addicted to God” and asking ourselves: “What are we willing to pay a price for?”
Wednesday led us to a spirituality of nothingness…making the choice between the wheat and the weeds and becoming passive to our ego and open to the Holy Spirit.
Thursday’s theme reminded us that God wants us to be free…it is God’s kingdom and not ours…falling in love with God’s way…don’t criticize, do energize! And always be sincere.
On Friday, the final day of retreat, we reflected upon Mary and the Annunciation. Mary, full of grace means that she is filled with God, and so must we be. Our YES will also bring Christ into the world.
